Cold War Working Group conveners Addie Jensen and Mattie Webb have developed a new opportunity for undergraduates to gain experience with public history through the Cold War Working Group’s blog. We are housed under the Center for Cold War Studies webpage, and are actively sourcing submissions for “This Day in History” blog posts.
To summarize, “This Day in History” is centered around Cold War-significant dates and events. This will give undergraduates the chance to network with CCWS members and get some experience with public history. All posts will be reviewed by a three-person panel of experts before appearing on the webpage.
Interested students should send pitches/drafts to both Addie Jensen (addisonmjensen@ucsb.edu) and Mattie Webb (mattie@ucsb.edu).
Pitches can center on one event or multiple events that occurred on a specific date in history. The date is up to the student to choose, but must be at least three weeks in advance of initial submission. Posts should be between 300-500 words, and should include relevant Chicago-style citations where appropriate.
