Workshop in the History of Technology and Science

HIST295TS

About the Course:

Writing/reading workshop, professionalization seminar, and guest lecture series for graduate students working in area of history of science/technology. Meets monthly throughout the academic year.
Fall 2020: “This course is a year-long workshop, which will be co-taught by Profs. Elena Aronova and Patrick McCray, and is open to all students, from those just starting out to those about to enter the job market.  This course is designed as a space for graduate students to discuss emerging new directions in the history of science scholarship, to meet visiting scholars, to “workshop” job or conference presentations, and so forth in a friendly and supportive environment. Another aspect of the workshop is to function as a “journal club.” The idea is for us to read recent works in the field – books, articles, work-in-progress and so forth – and discuss them. We also have regularly invite speakers from outside UCSB to join us.”
