I am broadly interested in the history of science, technology, and ideas and their reciprocal relationship with broader society, particularly in the Soviet Union. More specifically, I aim to explore how the Soviet Union is a society predicated on experimentation and how that necessitates a unique relationship with science and technology throughout the Cold War. I am also interested in exploring feminism in the history of science and technology. My previous research has explored media platforms during the Cold War by highlighting the op-eds and social theory of Boris Rabbot, a forgotten intellectual Soviet refugee.
My current research focuses on the Soviet Mayanist and linguist Yuri Knorozov and works to re-center him in the context of Soviet language science, cybernetics, and machine translation.
