Jennifer Burns, “The Last Conservative: The Life of Milton Friedman”

As part of the The Center for the Study of Work, Labor, and Democracy‘s Winter Quarter speaker series, Jennifer Burns (History, Stanford University) will present “The Last Conservative: The Life of Milton Friedman.” Professor Burns is the author of Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right (2009), and is now at work on a biography of economist Milton Friedman. She publishes articles and interventions on conservatism, libertarianism, and liberalism in academic journals as well as The New York Times, Dissent, and The New Republic. Professor Burns is a co-founder of the Bay Area Consortium for the History of Ideas in America.
