History Associates and “Idiot’s Delight”

The Robert Sherwood play, which won him the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1936, tells the story of a song and dance man traveling through Europe with a troupe of blonde beauties on the eve of World War II. It was later made into a movie starring Clark Gable and Norma Shearer. After a light lunch and talk by the play’s innovative set designer, Tal Sanders, History Associates and guests will adjourn to the nearby Hatlen Theater for a 2 p.m. matinee, then have an opportunity to participated in a post-play discussion with the cast.
