Biology and Ethics

Historian Paul Farber of Oregon State University explores whether nature is a guide for human actions and if humans have an evolutionary ethic. Many biologists have been uneasy with seeking moral guidance from nature rather than from the more traditional disciplines that focus on ethics and morality. Professor Farber’s talk was part of UC Santa Barbara’s popular New Visions of Nature, Science, and Religion initiative.
