I study broad trends in capitalism in 20th century U.S. Specifically on how and why the point of production has grown ever more remote from the point of consumption and the implications this has for production and labor. To bring these developments into focus, my project centers on the changes in movement of goods in Southern California from the postwar period through the late 1980s. (more...)
