Exploring rural historic landscapes has been and continues to be a lifelong pursuit. My current research examines the California missions and ranchos, focusing on the Spanish construction of space as an overlay on the indigenous culture. Interaction and transfer of knowledge impacted the landscape and created a new place: California.

Research Assistantship- The California Landscape History Project
I am working with Professor Peter Alagona documenting the history of the University of California's Natural Reserve System and the diverse natural and cultural landscapes that it encompasses.
