My research interests are broad, and include:
Nineteenth and twentieth century American history, with a special emphasis on agriculture and gardening during the Progressive Era and WWI; the relationship between urban and rural life; landscape/horticulture and women; government/educational policies relating to gardening and agriculture; the American homefront in wartime (Revolutionary War to World War II); and World War I poster art. Public History interests include memory, place, preservation, museum studies, and new media (digital and film).
