Nadja Durbach, who took her PhD at Johns Hopkins, is Professor of History at the University of Utah. She is the author of Bodily Matters: the Anti-Vaccination Movement in England, 1853-1907 (2004) and Spectacle of Deformity: Freak Shows and Modern British Culture (2009). She is currently working on a book entitled Many Mouths: State Feeding in Britain from the Workhouse to the Welfare State.
