A founder of the Tobin Project, Professor Moss is the author of Socializing Security: Progressive-Era Economists and the Origins of American Social Policy (1996); When All Else Fails: Government as the Ultimate Risk Manager (2002); and editor of Preventing Regulatory Capture: Special Interest Influence and How to Limit It (2014). His most recent book, Democracy: A Case Study (2017), adapts the famous HBS case study template to 19 significant moments in U.S. financial, political, and racial history to probe both the success and failure of American democracy during more than two centuries of crisis and division.
