Jeff Sklansky is the author of The Soul's Economy: Market Society and Selfhood in American Thought, 1820-1920 (2002) and the forthcoming Sovereign of the Market: The Money Question in Early America.  An important article, “Labor, Money, and the Financial Turn in the History of Capitalism,” appeared in the Spring 2014 issue of Labor: Studies in Working-Class History of the Americas.  A copy of his workshop paper, "The Fund of Trust: Monetary Reform and the Ethnic of Investment in theGilded age" can be found here
