Changing patterns and conceptions of inequality, Civil War to World War II. Examines influence of economic transformation, race, gender, class, attitudes towards work and welfare, social movements, social knowledge, law and public policy on opportunity, income, status, and power.
Prerequisites:
History 17A or 17B or 17C or upper-division standing.
