Social history of women in America. Changing marriage, reproduction and work patterns, and cultural values about the female role. Attention to racial, class and ethnic differences. Analysis of feminist thought and the several women’s movements. From 1800 to 1900.
Prerequisites:
Any two quarters of History 17A-B-C or upper-division standing. Same course as Women’s Studies 159A-B.
