Two UCSB history doctoral students speak on the politics of globalization during the second half of the 20th century.
Jesse Halvorsen's presentation is titled "To Win a 'Hunk of the Machine': Labor, Business, and the State's Approach to Technological Change During the Cold War, 1948-1964"
Andrew Elrod's talk is titled, "The Multinational Corporation and Detente: Investment Policy, Full Employment, and the Trade Act of 1974"
Both Halvorsen and Elrod are affiliated with UCSB's Center for the Study of Work, Labor, and Democracy.
