I am an American historian interested primarily in questions of political economy, media, state development, and finance in the antebellum era. My dissertation, completed in 2013, analyzed the intersection of financial intermediaries, newspapers, and institutions during President Andrew Jackson's "Bank War," from 1828 to 1834. I am currently revising this dissertation for eventual publication as a monograph with a university press.
